Moved to ~~Elsewhere~~
So far this thread's light on substance and deserves a new home, methinks.

Gemma's just trying to show that Christians are better than somebody. Presumably, because this a predominantly liberal board, the board must favor Islam.
Frankly, I had more fun with Pascal's Wager. Gemma isn't as interesting as she used to be. |

Why am I reminded....
of a conversation I had in college? Who was stupider, Beavis or Butthead?
I voted Islamic, although I admit it's tough to top Catholic nuns. 1. Islamic women have it worse, possibly only because of where and when they live. If we looked at the Middle ages of Catholicism, it might be a tougher call. 2. Islamic women, although I don't doubt most don't consider it oppression, still have no real choice. Catholic nuns willingly threw themselves on the traintracks of God's love. Niggle, "ex-Catholic" |

i see absolutely no repression where nuns are concerned
they enter a life of servitude to their beliefs of their own free will and are fully aware of the choice they are making when they do so and they don't stone catholic nuns to death in some countries if they are seen with a male who is not their husband or immediate family member (not saying this is a widespread thing in the islamic world, but it happens) |
