I have heard an argument which says that each of Noah's sons represents a race. Black, White, and Asian. They dispersed after the flood and became races we see today. Funny stuff, huh?

Never heard what they thought about Incans, mayans, or native americans though????
Well, don't expect too much from YEC population genetics anytime soon, but. . . they'd probably say that native americans (including the Incans and Mayans) are 'asians,' which is well supported genetically, and so are descended from whichever of Noah's sons are supposed to be ancestral to asians.

She just keeps asking me why God "drownded" all the people, and whether kitty cats and the zebras in Africa were "drownded" too. I told her, yes, the story says that God drownded everybody. She said the story is about a "bad man," and she doesn't want to read it anymore.

Maybe next week we'll read the poignant story of Abraham and Isaac, or maybe the Exodus. Maybe she'll like those better.

You're a sneak! Congrats, btw...

Don't start on the Philistines, mice, and hemorrhoids story until she's at least seven, though. It's too complicated.

They'd still have to explain when and how the "Asians" got to the Americas. They'd also have to explain from whom the Aborigines are descended.

I presume they'd fall back on the generally accepted explanation that the ancestral NA population migrated across the Bering Strait from northeast Siberia near the end of the last glacial period, when sea-level was about 130m lower than it is today.

Hmm, I figured they wouldn't be able to use that since that happened much more than 5000ish years ago (I'm sorry, but when exactly did the great flood supposedly happen, anyway?). Do they actually admit that there was an "ice age"? If so, when do they think it happened.

If you're drinking coffee, put it down.

I once had a creationist argue to my face that there was only one ice age, that it happened immediately after the flood, that it froze solid the surface of every ocean on earth, and that the animals disembarking from the ark used this helpful phenomenon to WALK across the frozen oceans of earth in order to reach their designated continent.

Thats why kangaroos are only found in Australia.

But wouldn't that mean all animals would be on one place only?

A friend of mine calls this the 'Chewbacca defense',after an episode that was on the show South Park.

It's a Biblical explanation,a defense, that's so bizarre,so twisted,it causes the listener to just sit in awe at the fact that people believe it.
