Bonduca,

LOL! Touche'!

God: "I love you, so I'm kicking you out of Eden and shall make you and yours die."

And he wonders why we wouldn't some more of God's "love". Hell, he just loved Adam and Even to death!

Actually, I don't have this faith. I know that every time I get into an elevator, drive a car, or board an airplane, an accident might happen and I might get injured or killed. I rationally and courageously accept the risk. I do not wish the risk away with faith.

If faith were sufficient, there would be no need for elevator maintenance and vehicle inspection.

*yawn* Why, it's the tired old "science is really a religion, too" argument. I haven't refuted that one in days.

Perhaps the only way to have meaningful discussion would be to begin excercising mutual respect.
Fantastic! I couldn't agree with you more. And the best way to exercise respect on your part is to stop assuming you know more than us on this subject just because you're a theist.

We've asked you to prove your position. Go ahead and prove it. If you come up with a convincing proof, I don't think there will be a doubter among us.

You can't ask for better terms than that.

I can continue fielding the flames or we might try commencing discussion.
Bubby, you haven't seen flames, yet. We've just been finding the flaws in your arguments.

A "discussion" involved one person talking, the other listening, and then switching roles. What you seem to have in mind is not so much a discussion but a "lecture".

But you've given us no evidence whatsoever that you know anything we don't know, hence we're not interested in a lecture from you.

Want to convince us what you're saying is right? Prove it.

I have never acted 'in faith' of anything since I was six years old Booty.

You seem unaware of the breadth of non-christian philosophical viewpoints out there.

It might shock you that I take absolutely nothing on faith, everything is uncertain, risky, up in the air when you have no Big Sky Daddy. Everything is constantly on trial, my own beliefs especially

Explain why he allows women to be raped, children to be beaten and starved, innocent people to die of horrible diseases, mothers and infants to perish in famine.

And would you explain what this has to do with "love?"

Would you have Up with no Down? Cold with no Hot? Empty with no Full?

The Garden was eternal paradise, for paradise to exist the opposite has to exist as well. Adam and Eve chose to eat the forbidden fruit of their own free will and they were ejected from the garden to die. Die they did.
