If you perceive them as “stone-minded people trying to manipulate your life” (or whatever it is that bothers you about them) you’ll start feeling your anger. But if you perceive them as “poor victims of the culture! They are just unable to shake of the ideas school, parents and society place in their heads” it would make a lot of difference about how you react and the emotional state you’ll be in.
I think that "letting go" means that you have to stop seeking for someone or something to lay the blame on. With a Christian worldview, there is a cause and a reason for everything good and bad in life. The problem for me was that it meant that God is ultimately responsible for everything (including all the misery) and how can I love someone who is responsible for all that? How can I forgive God? Blah, blah, blah.

Once I switched my mode of thinking to "random shit happens" instead of "there's a reason for everything", I was able to let go of my anger.

Mode of thinking! Man you are giving an example of what I was talking about! attitude makes emotions! or you just have an allergy for scientific terms!

to me I have allergy to elusive, meaningless terms as "letting go of anger" while you have a more specific and scientific term like "changing your attitude"!

I have given a very practical way for our friend to fight his anger by literaly changing his attitude. can you give me an exact definition of how does the process of letting go of anger work? huh? what? you just untie your anger, and shot one bullet in the air to scare it away, then extend your pelvis and protrude you belly and yell "RUN boy RUN!" seriously just HOW would you let go of your anger

Calzaer,

It is not God you have a problem with.

It's his fan club.

Well, venting your anger can be cathartic. By a gun, go to a shooting range. Get a picture of something symbolizing God and shoot the crap out of it .

If the anger is caused by something I can change, I'll work to change it. If it's caused by something I cannot change, I'll try to understand why it is the way it is in order to make it less "personal".
