The moderation at OCW after the fundie takeover was definitely worse than either TW or the BB.

You got it right that the later phases of OCW were low points in integrity. When Fred and Walter ReMine were trashing evo posters in threads that they were also posting in their "public personas" was low. When Williams and ReMine were trying to wrest control from the site owner to establish their YEC totalitarian domain, that was low. But, Tweb has been doing the same thing.

Reading that, I can see the TW path clearly, I wonder if they can?

As an aside, when I was over there early, there were only 6 people or so browsing the forums....That is WAY down from before this whole thing started. Do you think they'll figure it out BEFORE TW dies?

Default Good grief!

Good grief!

Now I know you guys are pretty darn important and everything

But do you really imagine they started an entire board just to deal with your topics?

There is a whole lot of stuff going on there besides evolution

It's more that we are interested in it NOT going belly up, as it's current direction would indicate. We WANT opposing viewpoints to exist, we ENJOY browsing other sites! Other than that, I'm kind of lost as to where you want to go with your question. We know they did not come from here, but we are trying to remember where they DID come from, because the jackboot response over there is a drastic change from the previous climate. Ever since Sarfarti and Turkel have gotten express control and favour there, the moderation against opposing viewpoints has gotten bad, and we would like to see where they came from, because it seems like they are WORSE than what they left for in the first place.

No, they started an entire board because their previous board wouldn't let them get away with their bullshit. So they took their dog-and-pony show, left the old board, and started up their own BBS system.

Sure; there are lots of forums over there. But they all share the the same set of flaws:

1. inconsistent moderation in regards to on-screen interpersonal behavior of believers vs. nonbelievers;

2. moderators playing favorites toward "board celebrities" like Sarfati and Turkel;

3. dishonesty among the moderators, when confronted by #1 and #2; and

4. an unwillingness to permit discussion on whatever the topic is -- evolution, archaeology, biblical criticism, politics, etc. -- without exercising moderator abilities to assist the losing (christian) side. Whenever the fundies start losing, the mods step in to prevent that from happening.

Default Previous board

Judge:
What was "their previous board"?
If you know that they left a previous board, how come no one even knows what it was?

someone hears that some said it...someone else vaguely recalls ...someone recalls and then strongly suspects...then all of a sudden it is a fact!

Judge,

I've seen both TheologyOnline and BOTCW mentioned as having connections with the admin crew at TheologyWeb. Some of the mods/admins of TW are now beginning to post here, so perhaps you can ask them.
