I'm so depressed over this idiocy that I think i'll go drink myself stupid before I plan how to get the hell out of this country.

Well, maybe I can tough it out till election time.

Cool Outline of a boat.

Could someone explain how that's supposed to be a boat of some sort?
If you look carefully between the blue arrows, there is a pair of ridges in the ice. They split apart at the top, and join back together at the bottom. If you turn you head sideways, squint, and hop on one leg, you might be able to imagine the outline of a deeply pointed boat.

Where is Erik von Daeniken when you need him?

...Sheesh, how much evidence do you hyper-skeptical atheists need?

God plainly caused big blue arrows and a big red circle to appear on Ararat. That, by itself, is proof that miracles happen!

Therefore, God exists. Therefore the Bible is 100% true. Therefore there is an Ark.

At the moment, the whole thing is mere wind with financial backing. There is no gaurentee that the expedition will reach the site, which is on the north face of Ararat at, if my infoirmation is correct, some 17,000 feet altitude. This is some serious moutaineering bordering on the Sir Edmund Hillary class. The expedition leader is said to be an experienced climber, but how good is he? Further, is he going to have to wet-nurse a gaggle of Bible-quoting amatures the whole time? If so, I don't envy him.

Also, there is the Turkish government to consider. They are known to have a sticky attitude about this sort of thing. It might turn out that they'll never get it off the ground, no almost-pun intended.

Me, I hope they get there. I hope the climb is a relitivly easy one and they get to scamper about searching for (I did not say 'fabricating'), evidence to their throbbing, little heart's content, with no frost bite, broken bones or supply shortages. In short, I wish them all of the luck I can.

Y'see, I love a good story, especally one represented as fact, that I can pick apart like shucking a steamed crab. And this one has the potential to be fun!

I can scarcly wait.

It is a done deal! Just ask these guys...

And if you think the boat shape in the snow is something, check out this bad boy:

Based on the preponderance of these boat shapes all over the region, it is disgustingly clear that Noah didn't have just one boat, he had a goddamn navy!

Drogue anchors are designed to drag in the water, stabilize a ship and keep it perpendicular to the oncoming waves; not to prevent it from moving.

This type of drogue anchors, which have broken away, are sometimes found on the floor of the Mediterranean and other seas as they were common to ancient ships.

Ron observed crosses on the anchor stones.

Some of the anchors seem to have had eight original crosses carved on them. These crosses are Byzantine style which indicates that someone after 300 A.D. recognized these anchorstones as having a connection with Noah's Ark and carved the crosses at that time.
Y'gotta love it!

Whaaaat!!? (My stomach muscles are really aching at the mo-seriously) I didn't even get to try the one legged bit yet. I have seriously hurt myself laughing-really really really. This thread just gets whackier-

Any way back to the impending cyclone. As you can see (blue Arrows) a cold front will be moving over Ararat this evening, perhaps whipping up some more snow, but later (red arrows of warm humour) shall descend to shoo away any residual ice cubes that may be lurking in the area. Tomorrow's forecast will unfortunately repeat the same old clapped out whether or not pattern. As to any long range whether forecasts, it is too far ahead to predict, although there is a local forecaster who says confidently; "Oo ar, it may not be time yet to plant out yer earlys, but the bunyans on my feet have never been wrong- there is definitely going to be some stormy whethers ahead."
Thank you Jethro, and now to the main points of the news once...

I'm pretty sure we saw the same segment. I remember the really gauling part of the whole thing was when the interviewee rehashed the old "there is enough water inside the earth to have caused a global flood with water levels high enough to get a boat on this mountain. It all just drained back inside the earth afterward".

Of course there was no one to ask how massive sinkholes weren't created by the displacement of all this water from under the earth's crust to on top of it and all the other massive problems a literal interpretation of this bible story would entail. :banghead:

I guess these "morning shows" aren't really news shows or they'd have to be a little more balanced in their presentations. But geez, it was a major network!
