2 Samuel 7:10 will probably not become a fulfilled prophecy.
In the NASB, 2 Samuel 7:10 says "I will fix a place for my people Israel; I will plant them so that they may dwell in their place without further disturbance. Neither shall the wicked continue to afflict them as they did of old." The Partition of Palestine most certainly did not fulfill that prophecy, and it never will in this life since the Jews are surrounded by hostile neighbors, not to mention terrorists who live in Israel, and some Muslim countries that are developing nuclear weapons. Since the Bible says that there will always be wars and rumors of wars in this life, and that in the last days, nation will turn against nation, it is not likely that there will ever be peace in the Middle East during this life.
There is not any doubt whatsoever that Old Testament Jews were deceived into believing that eventually, in this life, Jews would have a homeland of their own where no one would bother them. In addition, regarding Micah 5:2, there is no doubt whatsoever that Old Testament Jews were deceived into believing that a messiah would come who would become ruler of Israel in this life. Since God could easily have prevented any disputes over whether or not Jesus was the messiah, it certainly was not the Jews' fault that they did not know who Jesus was. Regarding the Pharisees' claims that Jesus healed people by the power of Beelzebub, the claim has to be false. It would have been expected that a messiah would want to heal people, especially since the Old Testament always attributes healing to God. If the Devil actually healed people, he would cause more people to become Christians because many people would attribute the healings to God. |
