New edition of Gelasius of Cyzicus
I see that a new edition of the Church History of the 5th century ecclesiastical history of Gelasius of Cyzicus has come out in the GCS series, with German introduction but no translation, edited by G.C.Hansen (title: Anonyme Kirchengeschichte (or via: amazon.co.uk), with extract on Google books).
I see that there is a review of this by Stuart Hall at http://jts.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/co...ation/54/1/342. Would anyone email it to me at roger_pearse@yahoo.co.uk? I have no access to all these things, you see. Any other reviews of the publication would be gratefully received also. I'm looking ahead and wondering whether an English translation would be interesting, you see. As far as I know no translation exists apart from the old Latin one in Migne. The TLG text appears to be the older GCS edition: So it would cost around $6,000 to get a translation made; a lot, but not impossible. All the best, Roger Pearse |
