Default Opening Up The Bible: Thinkng Outside The Box

So, I opened up the Bible today. (not for the first time atheists )

In Genesis Chapter 2 I noticed something quite interesting to prove the Bible is not 100% God BREATHED.

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God HAD NOT CAUSED it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

This passage inidcates that God Himself is the reason why it rains. We all know the real reason why it rains. To the literalists, they have to ignore science and clouds and what not and tell science that God is the one who pours water out of the Heavens.

What do you guys think of this? As soon as I read that verse I thought of this website.

Well done, Half Life.

There is another thread that demands your attention, though.

I'll go and find it, and edit in a link.

This one

And I think there's another one as well

Half-Life: Were you before this under the assumption that the bible was 100% "Godbreathed"? At first, let be honest for a second, I thought that you were a troll, a Christian with his fingers stuck in his ears ignoring responses and continuing with your posting. However, this is the second time you've surprised me, the other time where you merely posted a thanks after many had shredded a Christian falsehood that you questioned about.

I don't know if you will progress past the non-literalist phase into atheism. However, I do know hope you continue on your quest looking into bible and interrogating it critically. Perhaps you will apply this to the entire bible, and instead of going into it with the assumptions, make the assumptions afterwards.

But I can only hope.

best of luck,

Chris Weimer

I agree. It's still hard sometimes even for me. And then you have to watch out for the other extreme - having no trust at all in anything. Hopefully, we can help you here.
