Geza Vermes, the well respected scholar of early Judaism, Christian origins and the Dead Sea Scrolls has has passed at 88.
I just coincidentally happen to be reading his newest book (and I guess his last) this week. Vermes had the nuts as a scholar. Agree or disagree with all of his conclusions, but he was real deal. I have several of his books and have always found him interesting to read. |
