Walking The Bible on PBS
http://www.pbs.org/walkingthebible/
Man, was this ever a big stinking turd! The show is based on the faulty premise that the events of the Pentatuch really happened. One of the "archeologists" they had on there mentioned that SOME people say that Abraham is intirely mythical, but that is just because we don't have his business card from Haran. Seems like they only talked to people who were really vague about what they were saying and pretty much told them what they wanted to hear. They didn't talk to Finkelstien or Silberman that's for sure. There was a lot of "some people say this" and "some people say that" with a lot of "this is what the bible says, so we're going with that." Bad, bad, bad. The first episode covered Genesis to Abraham. Can't wait for the Moses stuff, that's going to be a real groaner. |
