Default Is this how Jesus really look like?

I'm not sure where this belongs. But if Jesus existed, is this the way he really look like based on records?

Its a good scholarly guess.

Its certainly better than the blue eyed, long blond haired and white skinned Jesus found in so many pictures today....

This is a modern reconstruction based on the idea that Jesus was a typical middle eastern male of his time. (I think I recall it from a TV special.) There are no records that support this.

it was a very detailed documentary by Discovery Channel. I have yet to see anyone come up with a better assertion. But, pardon me, why does it matter?

It would explain "Blessed are the big-noses".

Yes, but is there any reason to believe, if he existed, that he wasn't a typical 1st century male from the region?

It's certainly more accurate than the usual Jesus pictures owned by my parents. There's one behind me right now! He has long hair, a thin American/European nose and Hawaiian tanned skin. For some reason, he also has a sad expression on his face. I don't know about you guys, but if I had just conquered SIN and created a doorway of salvation, I would be a bit more excited.

Dude, it's "Non", one of the outlaws from the planet Krypton under the command of General Zod, from Superman II!

There's no reason to think that he would have been typical. After all, who grows up to be leaders? Usually people who are taller or bigger than average, or people who are shorter than average and are trying to compensate.

In the absense of any evidence, all is speculation.

I'm mostly struck at how much this picture resembles Jay Raskin of the Jesus Mysteries group. (This picture even moreso.)

Everyone knows Jesus looked like this:

Doesn't anyone go to the movies anymore.
