I have not seen much by Koester in regards to HJ reconstruction. A little in his NT Intro IIRC but do you have any sources? I would also prima facie object to mentioning Koester in the same category as N.T. Wright.

I may start on "A Marginal Jew" simply because I can borrow a copy from a friend and thus not have to drive 50 miles to get to a decent theological bookstore. (I live sorta near one. It is a thing of wonder.)

you dont want to jump right into HJ reconstruction. you need source inormation and background information.
first do a critical intro to the new testament. kirby suggested one, brown's is another, koester has one and a bunch of other scholars as well. Read the NT intro first then start with marginal. |
