Default Looking for a verse

Hiya folks,

I'm looking for a verse that I thought was NT. It deals with the afterlife...where those in heaven will not know others in heaven....and that they will not remember their earthly life or those left behind...culminating with worshiping the Lord or sitting at the right hand of God....or some such.
I thought it was in Revelation. I've PM'd a few people, but no one is familiar with the verse. Maybe it isn't NT but OT. I tried Bible Gateway, but the key words don't match.

Can anyone help?

I did find this one, from the KJV:

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

This is infuriating!!!

I know I saw a passage that describes those in heaven after salvation.

Might be in Revelation 4 or 5

From memory i don't think that there is a verse that exactly fits your criteria.

There is a verse in one of the gospels (Matthew?) where the disciples say "Lord we have left everything to follow you"

Jesus replies "I tell you those who have left families houses etc..will receive 100 times both in this age and the age to come'

There is a passage from some church father describing how those in heaven will feel extra join in listening to the screams of those down below. I don't think that's what you are looking for, and it's not Biblical.

Do you not mean the Rich man and Lazarus story found in Luke 16 like I showed you? That clearly (er, well, you know) states that those in heaven are separated from those in Hell. Likewise, the Mageth quote fits your description also. Are you perhaps reading quotations and commentary on certain verses or maybe a different translation?

I don't know. Maybe it was a commentary. I remember seeing something about wearing new clothes too.

Thank you guys for your help. None of the verses offered fit what I was looking for quite right...

OK what about Revelation 2:17 ? The letters in chapter 2 and 3 seem to contain some of the stuff you are looking for.

Quote:
17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it
further on
Quote:
4Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
