Bible John, I will suggest that your seduction techiques are unlikely to succeed if you model them on the style of "argument" you're using in this thread.

Walking up to the most attractive female at a party (attached or otherwise) and declaring "I am unique, therefore You Are My Girlfriend" rarely works.

Do you never wonder why your god wills us lot loads of girlfriends? How come we get to knob all the best ones if it's against god's will? You're not going to fool anyone simply by chopping your foreskin off, especially those who have spent a large part of their lives trying their best to rub it off naturally with a strategically placed woman.

I think I'll stick with "Hello gorgeous, can I buy you a drink?"

Right, thank you.

But have you ever seen Scott and Burns together at the same time? Bobby is a sock puppet, I'll lay odds.

When I wrote Robert Burns that was a parable which of course no one would take literally so my blurbs are still inerrant
You're quite correct, I've never seen Burns and Scott together.

Ergo, you are inerrant.

And of course when I said 'Burns was a parable' I meant parable metaphorically as a metaphor.

So why is it that when I do this it is childish and transparently dishonest and yet all of liberal Christianity is based on this very same practice?

If a work of history as some people claim the bible is, has just one mistake, the whole thing has to be scrutinised, because there could be other mistakes.
The bible is very obviously wrong in the age of the Earth. According to a bishop Usher, by adding all the begats, come to an age for the Earth of approx. 6000 years.
Inerrant? No way Hosea. Far from it.

I repeat this question. BibleJohn, you started the thread. Which version of the Bible is inerrant?

Josh McDowell, The New Evidence that demands a verdict, pp.4-18

Reasons why the Bible is a unique book

1. In its Continuity
2. In its circulation
3. In its translation
4. In its survival
5. In its Teachings
6. In its influence on civilization

The Bible has survived throughout time, long before computers and the printing press. The Bible has been copied many times, and even after all these times the Bible still is the Word of God that is infallible and inerrant.

If Johnny Skeptic would do some research he would discover that OTHER ancient writings of the same time period do not have as much manuscript evidence to support them than the Bible does.

Also if Johnny would do some research on Biblical scholar John Lea and read this book called The Greatest Book in the World he would see far more support for the scriptures than that of Shakespeare's works.

Also if Johnny would read history he would see that MANY MANY attempts have been made to destroy the Bible, but God allowed his holy word to survive.

The devil and his servants have not given up on their attempts to destroy the word of God, and even after so many attempts to destroy it failed, today the devil is using his own Al-Qaeda whom have invaded the church to destroy the word of God. Many of these Al-Qaeda do not teach the Bible, and so the flock in these churches, cannot discern, since they do not read the word.

The devil will once again fail.

I look forward to your reply Johnny.

John
You know, you are very abusive of the devil. You write as if you were the prophet of the devil, or as one who merely repeats what the Bibles says about the devil (the sacred SATAN, or whoever).

Somehow, the devil never speaks for himself and has no prophets of his own. You and the Bible give him a bad name. You are like the early Christian theologians who told the history or biographies of Christians, how the bad Romans persecuted the innocent cross worshippers, while the Romans had better things to do than giving their own version of the events.

Sedition, sedition -- on the part of the early Christians.

I have not found the right word yet to characterise your perverted accounts of the devil.

If I were a believer in imaginary beings, I would seek out the devil first. I would summon him here and offer my soul to the Lucifer, the bearer of light, the disguised Prometheus, the lover of mankind. There is only hatred and revenge that comes from the mouth of your petty god.

Hail, Lucifer.
Rekindle our hearts and minds.
Deliver us from those who who preach SUBMISSION [islam] to the hating Lord of the sky, Yahweh Sabaoth.
Deliver us from the shame of the crucified.
Let us be free from ecclesiatical and political lords.
Deliver us from the deceptions of all holy scriptures.
In you we move, live, and have our being
gratefully.
