Message to arnoldo: Why didn't Ezekiel mention Alexander? If your answer is that Daniel mentioned Alexander, I will ask you to quote your sources. If your answer is the Partition of Palestine, then I will ask to go to the thread about Israel. If you mention messianic prophecy, I will ask you to start a new thread on messianic prophecy. This thread is about the Tyre prophecy.

When you obviously don't understand the book, how can you think it is a prophecy? ... ... Well, I guess it's because you don't understand it.

If you would have ever read the book you would have read that the book is "sealed." Your comments are a good indicator you have not even read the book of daniel.

Quote:
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.~Daniel 12

I guess if Ezekiel wrote part of the prophecy before the event it's because Nebby was telling him what he was going to do, right?
Why is that necessary? Political commentators have existed for all of recorded history. They are aware, paying attention, and listening to the rumors. They were able to watch the situation 2500 years ago, just like they are today.

What in the world makes you think that requires them to have a direct line to the politicians?

As a side note:

I am truly surprised that you posted that comment without editing or removing it. The flaw in it was pretty obvious - being a political or social commentator doesn't require access to military leaders or politicians. Don't you even stop for 10 seconds to check your comments and spot huge gaping holes like this? I mean, before you post and embarrass yourself?

You are clearly feeling the pressure; chances are this is the first time you have ever encountered people who know far more than you do about history and the bible, and you don't know how to handle it.

If the book is "sealed", then you cannot claim any fulfilled prophecy, or any mention of Alexander. After all, if it's sealed, then it's sealed.

10 seconds. That's all it takes to check your posts for obvious holes like that. Consider it a wise investment.

The sealing was probably meant as an explanation of why no one had ever heard of the book which was supposedly written ~400 years before it actually was. "Look it says it's sealed till the time of the end, but it's unsealed now, so that must mean we're at the time of the end!" You do realize that "the time of the end" refers to Antiochus's desecration of the temple, right?

Thank you, you obviously have never read the book of daniel. There are many parts of Daniel which are waiting to be fulfilled.

Your comments are off-topic for purpose of this thread. If you want to debate the book of Daniel, please make a post in my thread on the book of Daniel. The article that I posted in that thread demolishes the book of Daniel, and amazingly with Josh McDowell OWN sources. The article proves that Daniel was written by more than one period if different time periods. At any rate, this thread is about the Tyre prophecy, so please stay on topic. You have claimed that Daniel mentioned Alexander, but what are your sources for that claim, book, chapter, and verse if you please.

Why didn't Ezekiel mention Alexander.

...Perhaps three and a half years before the end, a time two times and half a time, half a week of years, 2,300 mornings and evenings (ie 1150 days, ie 3.25 years), or was that 1290 days (3.6 years)?, or was that 1335 days (3.75 years)? (Adjustments were being made as it was written.)

No kidding. It's embarrassing watching yet another wave of people suckered by apologist propagandists.

Message to sugarhitman and arnoldo: You are beating a rented mule; the Tyre prophesy is a failure. Your arguments are tired and have been refuted over and over.
