Hi Johnny Skeptic,

Do you see no tangible miraculousness in life itself?
Or do you believe you understand everything in life,
without the need to go beyond what is sensible?

Best wishes,

First who is God, and how can one determine which God does miracles?

Some believers claim that the destruction of the World Trade Centre was indeed a miracle, and would like to see more miracles of that nature.

As an agnostic, I am willing to follow the evidence whevever it leads. If the evidence exists and decides to present itself to me in ways that I can be reasonably certain who the evidence is, and what the evidence wants me to do with my life, I would enjoy having lunch with the evidence and discussing a lot of issues with it. If you have met the evidence, please introduce me to it.

Do you see anything miraculous about a baby being born with serious birth defects, suffering for a few days, and dying? If so, how did the miracles of the baby's birth, suffering, and death help the baby?

I am not aware of any skeptic who is opposed to any being healing sick people, or giving amputees new arms and legs. Are you?

The miraculousness of life itself, IMO, drives the agnostic,
the theist and the atheist alike, in an elemental fashion:
meal by meal (earth), drink by drink (water), breath by
breath (air) and thought by thought (fire - the flame of
consciousness). This is simply ........ elemental SURVIVAL

I see no mention of Abrahamic Scriptural issues. This is more of a GRD thread, so I'm moving it.

Let me put it this way: If a being showed up, claimed to be the God of the Bible, and created a large building in front of the world media, I would be convinced that he was not from the planet earth, and that he had abilities that no human possessed. That would settle the issue of whether or not there is at least one such being in the universe. However, it would not settle the issue of his identity, and much more important, the issue of his character. I would ask him that if he is the God of the Bible, why he has refused to do everything that he can in order to help ensure that as many people as possible go to heaven, and as few people as possible go to hell. If his answer did not meet my satisfaction, I would reject him whether or not I believed that he was the God of the Bible.

Now then, what is your definition of a miracle? What convinced you to become a Christian, possibly because your father or mother convinced you to become a Christian?

Since the theist can't provide evidence all that is left happens to be perception.

Someone has a massive heart attack and survives. The theist says that is a miracle. But what about the heart attack?
