Anyone who (chooses to ) believe anything Saul of Tarsus (allegedly) wrote deserves what they get.

His BS is no more valid nor believable than anyone else's BS including JP2's and mine.

Jeff why are you believing what this site is telling you?

They have an agenda like everyone else, they are intrepreting the bible how they want to, the catholics do it how they want to . Its best to leave them to it.

Especially seeing as they have a lot of crap to say on creation vs evolution.

Why? How do you know whether I'm saved or not? I have a relationship with God. Hoping there is no Hell, doesn't get rid of it.

And as Jme pointed out, why are you trusting that site? There are thousands of sites on how to be saved, why do you trust that particular one? My understanding of Salvation comes from the Bible. Have you tried that as your source instead of a second hand site?

I think Jeffery's point is (and I may be wrong) that how one goes about becoming "saved" is unclear.

In any case...

An internet site is not the ultimate source of god's true word (or hey, maybe it is, could be divinely inspired). The problem is, the contradictions begin at "the source." I'm no bible scholar, but I really don't think it takes one to see the inconsistencies in the work.

Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even [as] we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

So it says that we are saved by faith. Paul clearly stated "not by the works"

BUT

James 2:24-26 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

and

Matthew 19:16-21 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me."

So, here we see a guy asking specifically about what to do to have eternal life, and the main guy Jesus doesn't even mention faith, only works. So, while some people may interpret this as faith and works the big man himself mentions only works. That's direct from the horses mouth, so to speak.

So, you can say, better do both, just in case...but to say there is no question as to exactly what you should do...well...that's a different story.
