Yeah the Jews fared well under the Persians, but then the Persians didn't seek to defile the Jews temple either. But again the Persians under Hamon sought to exterminate the Jews.

The Greeks and the Romans both sought to defile the temple of the Jews to force them into worshipping their gods...and ofcourse the Jews resisted which made them a stench in the nose of the Romans and the Greeks that continued down to modern times of their descendants....the Europeans.
I was actually being serious about the historicity of Paul; I suspect that he did exist and am a little surprised to have not had a response.. I'm doing some reading on my own.

The actual existence of Haman and the whole Purim story, is completely unhistorical I think.

It is remarkable that you can crticise someone for making an error and then in the same thread make an error that seems on the surface to be at least equally incorrect.

I've already given you your win on "Senators" that is, until I can find something else that would fit the part of wealthy Jews living peacefully among the Roman elete. Now, about your "ghosting" my Conspiracy of Paul; not so fast. I have reason to speculate on Pauls intent and purpose. After all, there are many "theories" regarding the NT tale of tales. Mine is just one more for the Greatest Hoax ever told. :Cheeky:

Would you like to start a new thread on the Conspiracy of Paul?

It was Cyrus the Persian who allowed the Jews back their homeland, was it not?

Cyrus authorized the second temple, but Nebuchadnezzar II is credited with allowing the Jews to return.

Esther evidently came after Cyrus, and was supposedly married to Xerxes I.

Purim itself is mysterious. Esther has been compared to Asherah.

It's possible one of Haman's sons escaped, converted to Judaism, and eventually had a descendant who became a Roman Senator.

It's also possible that Antiochus IV Epiphanes had the descendants of Haman executed when they refused to sacrifice to the Greek gods during the Maccabean revolt in 167 B.C.

Since there were no Roman Jewish Senators, I will close this thread. Please start a new thread with a descriptive title.
