This is very cool. I look forward to seeing what those various experts add to the project. This will become the new go-to place for tearing holes in those dusty old scrolls of enshrined ignorance.

Atheist Bible commentary
If you are interested in a Bible commentary from an atheist perspective, check out www.atheistsbiblecompanion.com. It is a bit more scholarly in focus than the skeptic's annotated bible and goes deeper into the contradictions and discrepancies. It is still being built up, but the gospels and Acts are complete, and that's where a lot of the contradictions are anyway.

the the skeptics annotated bible? you mean the one that takes everything out of context and has an annotation about every line? :rolling:
The skeptics annotated bible is hilarious, an example of their annotations would be of the following. bible scripture: And david drew his sling and slew goliath Annotation: where did david get his sling from? thin air? where did goliath come from? :rolling: |

I notice you are quick to sling "Fallacy!" around on other threads. So for Halloween this year, are you going as a pot or a kettle? |

I like this idea, i just hope it's open to babelist like myself to add annotations for a fair and balanced view point. that probably won't bode well with all the liberals but my hopes are still nonetheless high.

Well, since DLB says that sarcasm is not a valid form of criticism, and since there is no such annotation in the SAB, his post can be ignored by his personal standards.

Unfortunately, most of the comments are like DLB's. They just say 'all of your comments are out of context' and neglect to actually show a better context. I'm not sure what context could make the act of sending 2 bears to 'tare up' 42 kids NOT be cruelty, but i'd like to see how it could be framed. |
