Default Kansas AG wants abortion records...

...including the women's complete sexual history. CNN story Seems the Kansas attorney general wants all records for underage and late term abortions, not just those for a particular case he is investigating. He has been trying to force health-care professionals to report underage sexual activity for a couple years now, undert the justficiation that "I have the duty to investigate and prosecute child rape and other crimes in order to protect Kansas children".

I'm sure that his only motivation is protecting the patients.

Teenagers in Kansas who are sexually active will now cease confiding in thier local doctor about their sexual activity and this could potentially be harmful.

Of course this is lost on the Kansas AT and just about all conservatives, way to go moron AT.

Ahh the "children" argument again. Reminisent of the Simpsons as always.

I don't know how the hell this can even be considered and tying abortions to rape? Seriously.....the vast majority of underage (the arbitrary 18 of course) abortions are not a result of rape but consensual sex.

If there is a reason to investigate then do your job and follow through but putting people through interrogations by the state after they have already gone through an incredibly difficult time and for no reason? Yeah, very caring.

This is just another scare tactic to intimidate people into not considering their options.

Here's the Globe and Mail's take on the story. Pretty damn apalling.

I'll admit complete ignorance here, but don't doctors have to report the rape of a minor in any case? So if these abortions were the result of the rape of a minor, wouldn't it already have been reported? Maybe I'm wrong. It sounds like a trojan horse, imo.

An utterly despicable and transparent pursuit of a political agenda. Yet another example of the Ugly American that contemporary conservative policy represents. What a total slimebag this guy is.
