Default Wonderful Site For Bible Info

I recently came across an absolutely wonderful website that has online versions of a great many different versions of the Judeo-Christian bible, as well as variety on translations, and even a search engine to search the entire bible for something specific you may be looking for. The site is http://bible.com/bibles.html . Just thought that some of you might be interested, as it seems like it could be quite a useful site. I suggest bookmarking this one!

Why is it so wonderful? It's a proselytizing site. It's also a borderline commercial site which comes close to violating the rules for this board, since it's trying to sell you a Bible (and a religion.)

I prefer www.biblegateway.com - the search engine is more useable.

PS - there is no such animal as a "Judeo-Christian Bible," and there are no specifically Jewish scriptures on that site.

Blue Letter Bible has the original languages, several versions, dictionaries, commentaries, and a slick interface.

The site mentioned has the benefit of being easy to remember. However, I have to agree with Toto, Kosh, and Peter--as painful as such an exercise is--that their sites have far more resources, especially for the language deficients like myself who wish to compare translations.

I use that site quite often. It's pretty thorough and relatively easy to use.

Why would you ever want to compare versions?

Just to emphasize the indeterminate nature of God's Holy Word. It's obviously an atheist technique.

Inspiration of Scriptures: We believe that the Holy Bible is the written Word of the Living God. We believe it was inspired by the Holy Spirit and recorded by holy men of old. It is infallible in content and a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction which is truth without any mixture of error. The Bible reveals the principles by which God will judge us and reveals His great plan of salvation. It will remain eternally. We believe the Bible is the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried. Therefore, we believe this Word should go into all the world and should be given first place in every believer's life (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; and 2 Peter 1:19-21).

Just use bible gateway. I have a link to all books of the NIV in my links toolbar:

http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/...nguage=english

Replace in the url NIV with KJV or NKJV and the other versions should come up.

Easy quoting.
