Christians seem to find this compelling...
I have a hard time understanding what I have heard of it. It seems like convoluted nonsense to me, but maybe I am missing something.

We all really hate it when someone just posts a link to a youtube video, without identifying the subject or the author.
I can't bear to watch this - it seems to be about the Star of Bethlehem. There was a recent thread on the Star of B - is this the same video? |

For those in the UK (I don't think this link works 'abroad') there was recently a documentary within which it was concluded (as best as possible) that the star was Jupiter...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode..._of_Bethlehem/ Here's the programs blurb... In one of the most magical stories ever told, a bright star led the wise men from the east to the new Messiah. Now scientists are looking back into the skies of the ancient world to find out if the magi could have witnessed a real astronomical event. Could the star of Bethlehem have been a comet, an alignment of planets or even a supernova? Who were the wise men, and why were they watching the night skies? Could evidence from a clay tablet from Babylon, an ancient manuscript from China, a fresco in the Catacombs of Rome and biblical texts help to finally unravel the greatest astronomical story in history? |

Geez, sorry. It seems like I always do something wrong when I post something here. Yes, it's about the star of Bethlehem- Rick Larson.

So this is the same Rick Larson.
Why do [some] Christians find this compelling? I think it must be confirmation bias. |

You don't understand why Christians find this video compelling? And you came here to find out?
You're in the wrong forum. I doubt anybody here gives a skinny rat's ass. I, for one, can't bear to watch that sort of rubbish. Ddms |

So the bible says that the wise men followed a star and... there really was a star at night time so that means the bible is true.
In other news... Egypt is found to have really existed JUST LIKE THE BIBLE SAID. |
