Default Man's Accountability when Ignorant of the Gospel

The Bible tells us that we must one day stand before God and give an account of all that we have done. If we have sinned, we will be denied entry into heaven and will reside in what is called hell for eternity. The message of the gospel is that a person who has sinned can be forgiven of that sin such that he will be allowed entry into heaven.

Two confusing comments were made by Johnny Skeptic.

1. "No man can fairly be held accountable for refusing to accept a message that he has never heard."

A person is held accountable for his sin. If a person has sinned, he is held accountable for that sin regardless whether he has heard the gospel. Those who do not hear the gospel message do not know that they can escape the consequences of their sin. It is a bad position to be in but sin is sin and a person is accountable for his sin even if he is ignorant of a way to escape accountability for that sin.

2. "Since you claim that God does not wish to reveal himself to everyone, he is immoral."

Immoral just refers to a man's conception of good or bad. A man can say that God is immoral if God allows a man to pick his nose in public. If so-called "decent" people do not like it when God has no respect for their version of morality, then they should be free to reject Him. In the same way, God is free to save one person and reject another. If God decides to save X and refuses to save Y, that is a problem for Y. If God refuses to reveal Himself to Y, or otherwise save Y, then Y has a problem. His problem is not that God is immoral but that he has sinned.
