Default Homosexuality in the Bible: footnote

The Los Angeles Times reports that after Paul Crouch seduced his employee into a homosexual encounter,
Quote:
The next morning, Ford said, Crouch read a Bible passage to him in an attempt to reassure him about the night before. The passage, Proverbs 6:16-19, details seven "detestable" attitudes and acts in God's eyes.

Ford said Crouch told him that because homosexuality wasn't listed, the Lord wasn't worried about what they had done. Still, Ford said, Crouch warned him to keep the encounter quiet "because people wouldn't understand."
Proverbs 6

16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

homosexuality may not have been specifically mentioned here in Prov. 6:16-19, but if you happen to read OUTSIDE of those four verses you will see that the word of God has a lot to say on the subject. And actually, referring to the Proverbs passage, I would say that homosexuality would involve haughty eyes, and feet that are quick to rush into evil. anywhoooo, what do you think?!

Picking up someone in a bar involves haughty eyes, a lying tongue, a heart that devises wicked schemes and feet that are quick to rush into evil; a false witness who pours out lies can also be useful from to time to time, and if you have several people hanging out with the same purpose you'll have a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Go forth, brother, and let the Lord's will be known to everyone in those dens of iniquity.

Start with the Hell's Angels.

I think that it's amazing how often 'God's' prejudices line up perfectly with the prejudices of the people writing them down...

Man you hit that one on the head.

If Fundies were TRULY concerned about marriage (as they claim the reason to to "bring fourth fruits of thy loins". Hence gays can not reproduce as "God wanted")they would:

1. Make it illeagal for heterosexual couples to divorce (Xians have the highest in divorce rate in the US)

2. Any couple that is childless after 5 years of marriage must adopt or have their marriage license revoked

3. Any person caught breaking the marriage contract (Adultery, etc.) would be banished from the church

4. All couples considering marriage would undergo psychological screening to ensure the most likely match and the best chance of marriage success.

THEY are not concerned about the defense of marriage. They just want to tell the rest of us how to live. Can you say "FACIST?"

This rule can be applied easily to everything Xians claim they are in favor of. What bugs me is their lies and bigotry is so transparent.

You surely are not trying to shove aside what I said by referring to it as prejudice are you?! You cannot simply claim that I am "prejudice" and then not back it up with any evidence...sounds a little like ad hominem to me. But thats ok, you can attack me, God's word is still the Truth.............

Why the immature post friend?! You jumped at that a little quickly, and didn't give a SHRED of evidence. And FIRST of all, why did you feel the necessity to bring up marriage, that was no where to be found in the previous posts, so enough of the red herrings, deal?! Deal??? But lets just take a close look at your post anyway....

You claim that Christians have the highest rate of divorce in the US. Okkkkkkk, do you care to back that up with stats? Or were you just gunna throw that one out there?! Even IF Christians had the highest rate of divorce in the WORLD, God's definition of marriage STILL stands. Humans make mistakes, INCLUDING Christians. Anywhooooooooo...I won't even adress the rest of your post, since it was never a topic of discussion here anyway..

Just using something that seems near and dear to Xians heart..at the time. Check the census page. The "Bible Belt" has the highest divorce rates.

God is all in your mind....as such, GOD will of course agree with you. Many children have imaginary friends, and of course they agree with the child. BUT as Paul said

"When I became a man I put away childish things."

Perhaps it is time for your imaginary friend to go?

And one last item? Please...so not refer to me a "Friend." I am not your friend.
