"Jesus didn't save the Gentiles" A sound argument?
I have a Christian fishing-partner, and sometimes during periods when the fish are not biting we debate the philosophical implications in the bible. I would like to argue with him that Jesus died to save the Israelites, and not the Gentiles, but I am not sure how sound my argument is.
Basically, I want to argue that: 1) During Jesus's life, he never told his disciples to share the gospel with gentiles. 2) Only one gentile ever asked Jesus for a healing, and he called her a dog. Something about it wasn't fit to take the food from the table of starving children (Israel) and feed it to the dogs (gentiles). I will look up the verse later. 3) Paul says he saw a vision of Jesus telling him to preach to the gentiles, but the halucinations occurred after a) walking for hours down a road in the desert, and b) sitting on a clay roof all day. How sound is this argument? Can you improve or disprove it? Thanks! |
