Toto:

I'm sure you know that much of what is in the Bible has been corroborated by secular sources so yes, there is reason to believe at least some things in the Bible.

You claim is erroneous. Much of the Bible has NOT been corroborated by secular sources.

Let us start with Creation in Genesis and End with the Revelation of John.

You invent stories from your imagination and think you have some kind of authority to pass them off as history.

If you have NO evidence for your claims then what is the point in posting?

Anybody can make up stories.

It's about control. The more zeal, the more authority.

"Much" is an overstatement. Archaeology has contradicted much of the Hebrew Scriptures, and there is no independent confirmation for most of the important figures in the New Testament (Paul in particular.)

Without some verification, there is no reason to believe anything in the Bible.

I support Licona.
Another possibility is that rather than "zombies", this resurrection was spiritual, a (real) charismatic experience for some believers.

Shades of Marshall Appelwhite & Co! :Cheeky:
What a pathetic REEEACH!

Another possibility is that the story was simply some creative writing.

There is an Australian author named Peter Corris who writes history/novels whatever about a private investigator named Cliff Hardy who operates out of Sydney.

In one novel/historical treatise he describes Cliff driving over the Sydney harbour Bridge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Harbour_Bridge

Sydney Harbour Bridge is real, it is a historical fact, I have seen it for myself.

Therefore the Cliff Hardy stories are history.

This story is still on the front pages of the religious press:

Baptist Press: "Apologist's views bring back inerrancy debate"
Quote:
Below Licona's response was a list of 13 scholars who, though they may not hold Licona's position, "are in firm agreement that it is compatible with biblical inerrancy."

Three Southern Baptist seminary professors were on the list: James Chancellor of Southern Seminary and Jeremy Evans and Heath Thomas of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Professors from Liberty University, Biola University and Wheaton College also lent their support.

Chancellor told Baptist Press his name is no longer a part of the list and declined further comment. Thomas told Baptist Press he and Evans "have removed our names from the letter."

Evans said Southeastern is going to address the issue as part of a review of Licona's book in the seminary's journal and a scholarly forum.

...

The edition of the Southeastern Theological Review which is slated to include a review of Licona's book is expected next summer, Evans said, and he referred questions about the panel to Thomas. Licona said Geisler declined an invitation to participate in the forum but Mohler accepted.
Just be thankful there's no more death penalty for heresy (so far.)
