The same can be said of Jesus's death, an earthquake and zombies walking around. Shit like that doesn't usually get overlooked by the scribes of the day.

*interesting to note that simon kole focuses on Adam's sin; I don't think he mentioned Eve, probably because he was leaning on the NT regarding the importance & meaning of original sin, & (I hadn't noticed this before) there the focus is on Adam.

So then who has put the intense focus on Eve as the Original Sinner? Do we have the Catholic Church to thank for that, historically?

Whatever else you might say about the Catholic Church, you will have to admit that it's view of women is consistent.

Women are the root of all evil, going back to the Garden of Eden. And the sole reason for her existence is to satisfy her husband, and to produce as many souls to populate heaven as possible.

Women are temptresses. Hence the reason the Church forbade priests to marry.

The one exception to women as inherently sinful, of course, is the Virgin Mary, who was born without sin, who conceived god, immaculately, remained a virgin all of her life, and eventually rose from the earth unto heaven. I'm sure the Church would strongly endorse the following (though it's a Muslim idea):
