We are getting dumber and more backward by the day. Of-course for "believers", in absense of any manifestation fo their god, a manifestation of a demon is re-assuring. If there are ghosts and demons, chances for benovolent super natural life are considerably better that if there are no ghosts or demons.
What a pathetic lot we are!!!
I wander when the burning of witches will start again.

It may have abated in this country, but it continues in Africa of course. There continue to be occasional reports of witch burnings in several of the countries there, and of course I remember Nelson Mandela's assertion that AIDS was a result of witchcraft. Also, before they replaced the article from the Catholic Encyclopaedia Online, the author of the article on the Inquisition that was on the site three years ago asserted that the church did it's duty rooting out the heretics, that the Inquisition was never closed, and should the church ever regain its secular power to execute heretics and apostates it would rightfully do so. Make no mistake. These Romanist houngans would turn us on a spit and roast marshmallows if they still had the power. And does anyone seriously doubt that if Falwell and his ilk had the power they'd quarantine poeple with AIDS, put gays and lesbians in psychiatric "therapy", and deport if not jail Freethinkers?

I always thought Dougie was a troll, because I couldn't believe even a theist could be such a complete dumbass.

Oh, I get it-- that's why Pope Pius the XIIIXIXICCIVV allowed the holocaust to go on without a word-- these folks were too busy "battling demons" & shit to look at Real Fucking EVIL (tm) in the goddam face!

Fuck! "Evil" is not some fucking buggaboo hiding under your bed. Evil is something that human beings DO & THAT is what needs to be stopped (you know, like higher-ups shuffling off child molesters to other churches.)

People that think like this have NO IDEA what "evil" really is.

Fuckers.

Using the principle of judging by what they do and not what they say, the church leadership clearly has no real anguish over priests molesting children. They have a problem with them getting caught. The church makes make no attempt to protect children from pedophile priests. They simply protect the church from the embarassment. It's hard to imagine that a church official who simply relocates a child molestor isn't simply enabling a fellow pervert.

Exactly. Which is precisely why the higher-ups I think should be prosecuted too, not just the pedophile priests. They are accessories to the crime, & in a way, even worse than the pedophiles themselves.

Now THAT'S an "ideology of evil" if I've ever heard one.

Question

Quote:
Nowhere is the shortage of exorcists considered more serious than in the U.S., where skepticism about the practice abounds. There are fewer than a dozen official exorcists at U.S. dioceses, and it is a topic most American priests seem to avoid.
Uh... skepticism about the practice doesn't abound in places like Europe? Or Canada, Australia... ???

Or it doesn't matter there, because all the demons have flocked to the U.S. for some reason?
