How do you know that he wasn't shorter than average, brown and trying to compensate? Actually, the idea is silly. A short guy is being authoritarian, and he's trying to compensate. A taller guy is being authoritarian, and he's just living up to his potential. :devil3:

Oh, and I just remembered, the model pic in the original post is supposed to be of a male that is around 5'3-5'5" supposedly.

No! No! All of you have it wrong. Our Lord and Savior actually looked like this. You can tell He's really Jesus by the look of omniscience in His eyes.

That you? If so, I commend you on your omniscience.

I always loved Cheech Marin's take on this: "The Mexican Jesus has thorns all over his head and barbed wire all over his body. No pretty-boy Protestant with a blow-dry haircut. He bleeds. Catholics believe in redemption through torture ..." (I think this was in the Playboy interview.)

So many funny responses.

Anyway, does anyone know how this picture of Jesus come about anyway? Through gene data bank? Or some wild surveys of Middle Eastern people's look?

I show this picture to some of my christian friends and they kept telling me that this "guy" must be John the bapist, not Jesus.

The computer-generated image of what Christ might have looked like that was created for the program — a swarthy, coarse, vacant-eyed, short-haired man — has dismayed believers and non-believers since it was released at the end of March.

"We in the West have for about 2000 years been wrongly influenced by an Aryan Jesus, who looks like us, even blue-eyed and blond-haired. Nothing is more unfaithful to Jesus," said James Charlesworth, professor of New Testament languages at Princeton Theological Seminary, one of the experts consulted in the documentary.

Created with a 2,000-year-old Jewish skull, ancient religious images and documents, advanced software and the latest forensic techniques, the image is considered the departure point for the closest possible likeness of the historical Jesus: a 1st-century Jewish man who would have lived in the harsh conditions of the time.

The new image was created by a forensic artist at the University of Manchester using the 2,000-year-old skull of a Jewish man from Israel. Cues on hair and skin tone were taken from frescoes of Jewish faces painted in the third century. The result is a dark-skinned, curly-haired man with a round, robust face and a stout nose.

Why, because it is just a head?

Seriously, though, do they give you a reason?

All are lame reasons like techniques used to reconstruct the face is deeply flawed as with carbon dating :banghead:, Jesus should be a very handsome guy ( while John was not) as stated in the bible , pictures of Jesus found in the church are drawn more accurately than by some computer and science nerds :rolling: , etc.

Nevermind Jesus, what did Paul, the founder of Christianity look like:

"He saw Paul coming, a man small in size, bald-headed, bandy-legged, well-built, with eyebrows meeting, rather long-nosed, full of grace."
