1. Who's "The Adversary"?
2. Is there a devil such as the one we now call Satan mentioned in the Bible?
3. What about Hell? Is its existence backed up by the Bible as well?
The answer is very simple benja, and easy to follow.

There is only 'you' as the centre of the universe except that there is two of you, you and your ego.

The Adversary is your ego that goes by the ligth of common day and therefore the Morning Star is the announcer of the Adversary who needs the light of common day (or light of lamps) to shine. The morning star is really the Lord God leading you on towards 'wherever' but always away from Eden.

The devil is the serpent (once called Eve) which really is your earthliness that has no essence of existence because you are created in the image of God --and therefore the centre of the universe which is a position that humans abandonned with the fall of man that created the ego.

Sorry I forgot about hell.

Hell is opposite to heaven and just as real.

The short answer is to say that it is a divine love affair has gone sour, which hurts and hurts forever. In this sense is human love a foreshadow of divine love much in the same way as St. Nicholas is a foreshadow of salvation . . . but that is probably not what you are looking for.

Hell? How about the unexpected fruition of spiritual fornication? (after trying to breed one of them goats those goat herders parade in front of us).

It is backed up very succinctly in Jn.5:39-40 where Jesus tells the pharisees not to search the scriptures because the testify on his behalf.

The word "testify" has a connotation about it as well as a clear denotation because it is the essence of salvation that speaks to us when we read the bible and the words just confirm our emotions in thinking that we are doing ourselves a favor when reading it, while in fact the words lead us astray.
