What does "Eusebius" mean?
Does "Eusebius" mean something? Usually "Eu" means "good" or "well". But "seb"? And if "Eusebius" means something, does it mean something that it means something?

Eusebius means devout, godly, pious, or reverent. (I suppose the Latin equivalent is Pius.) It was a very popular name in the fourth century.

Thanks S.C.Carlson.
So was this a name he was born with, or did he later adopt it as a career move? Gerard |

Don't know. Nothing is known of his childhood or parentage.
