Default Interpreting the New Testament documents

Interpreting the New Testament documents

Although this does not appear to be directly associated
with an academic institution, the above article seems to
present an extremely thorough review of the elements of
the field. Any opinions on this?

Some interesting quotes:

Quote:
NT Apocryphal Acts

In the canonical New Testament one finds the Acts of the Apostles as the lone example of the early history of the Christian movement.
Is this correct? Is the Acts of the Apostles
the lone example of the early history of the
Christian movement?

and ....

Quote:
The External History of the Text

The external history of the text simply refers to the history of the composition of the text, that is, the historical aspects of bringing the text into existence. These are the typical reporter type questions:

Who wrote the text?
When was it written?
To whom was it written?
Where was it written?
Why was it written?

These issues emerge out of the historical critical method and are the heart of the formal discipline termed New Testament Introduction.
Surely, not many of these questions have been
satisfactorily answered with respect to the NT.

Textual critics should note that a further large section
of the above article is reserved for the Internal History
of the Text.

Best wishes,

It is the only part of the NT that talks about the post-resurrection experiences of the early church. There are those who have tried to extract some historical information from the epistles.

Well good on him for making his lecture notes public domain.
It seems to me that these notes are a very valuable guide
to a comprehensive study of the NT documents in general.

Thanks for the refs.
