Passion Narrative minus the OT parts
Is there any summary herein of claimed influences on the passion narrative, line by line? I'm especially interested in seeing what is claimed beyond just OT influence, and how strong the connections are. I'm thinking of looking at Mark and John combined, skipping Luke and Matthew...
I'm trying to look into the question of how much of the PN has little evidence of non-historical influence, and what that part of it looks like.. Does anyone think this is a worthwhile project? Any guidance would be appreciated. ted |

Oh, yes. I've looked at this before and had a related thread, but it was more of a "see if you can come up with something that was not a prophesy" deal - and not limited to the passion. I think starting from scratch and just organizing is not going to be too difficult because - There are many websites out there that have "three thousand" prophesies or whatever that were fulfilled by junior, and hence a lot of the "work" has been done already. Just need to organize in your own format. One of the tendencies with the apologists is to stretch, and so there are some obvious dumpster-diving heists and others that look pretty marginal. |

It's quite interesting that the extreme apologists and the extreme mythicists are looking at the same material here - the OT prophecies. To the apologists, the prophets prove the divinity of Jesus; to the mythicists, the same prophets prove that those incidents in Jesus' life are made up. To an apologist, humans cannot tell the future except when inspired by God; to a mythicist, humans cannot tell the future, full stop - so any occasion when they seem to do so must be unhistorical.
