I have a King James version that I bought decades ago at a used book sale to use for looking up references in crossword puzzles and cryptograms. I have an NIV that was given to me by someone who wanted to convert me. But mostly I use online sources - Biblegateway.com or any other site that google turns up.

I find little need to refer to any others than the NIV or (for historical reference) the KJV.

I prefer the NIV, probably because it was handy at the time I wanted to read one. Also, the RSV because it's the one preferred by Bart Ehrman.

I use the KJV revised edition, for debate and challening precepts as this is the one the majority of Christian Right Wing fundamentalists use, and which membership includes an abundance of elected politicians on both sides of the House.

I sold all my other bible collections at a local flea market.

I have several other translations including a Messianic Jewish translation, a plain ol' Torah, a JW bible and a Mormon bible (which to be fair is a KJ - but I have the "quad" which includes their other sacred works). I've got a bunch more in a box somewhere too. I collected different translations for a while and I've used them all at different times. One of the things that led to my deconversion.

I destroyed all my bibles years ago, so if I need to look something up, I do it online where I get a bunch of different translations at once. The Skeptic's Annotated Bible is my favorite.
