Default the book of Judith

I'm curious as to whether anyone here can explain to me the origin of the myth of Judith. I know it's a legend, and not historically true, but I'm just wondering where it came from in the Judaic heritage.

Thanks.

I'd guess that it was based on the Deborah Jael story in Judges, relocated in the Babylonian period and relating to the Seleucid king Antiochus IV who did the sort of stuff Judith 1 talks about and who appears as Nebuchadnezzar.
