Default Interview with "'Misquoting Jesus" at WashPost

There is an interesting article at the Washington Post.

The Book of Bart
In the Bestseller 'Misquoting Jesus,' Agnostic Author Bart Ehrman Picks Apart the Gospels That Made a Disbeliever Out of Him

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. Where does faith reside? In the soul? The mind, the marrow of the bones?

In the long hours of the night, the voices of the evangelical preachers on the AM dial seem to know. Believe, they say. Then daylight comes and the listeners' questions fade.
A great example of the rise and fall of faith.

The "happy agnostic" is news to me. Some earlier discussions about Ehrman in this board assumed that he is a liberal christian.

This is the first article to use that word.

I didn't see "happy agnostic" in the article linked to in the OP, but I know Ehrman called himself that in the interview linked to in the thread Toto gave.

Hi Folks,

Will Kinney reviews "Misquoting Jesus", and discusses some of the principle verses that Bart Ehrman mentions in the book.

A brief visit into the mind of Mr. Kinney:
"Keep in mind that if you are a modern, multiple-choice, Bible of the Month Club promoter, who thinks such conflicting versions as the NASB, NIV, ESV, NKJV, Holman Standard, etc. are "better and more reliable" than the King James Holy Bible, then you have fallen into the trap of men who do not believe The Bible, in any language, including "the original languages", IS NOW the inspired, complete, and 100% true words of God."
As a producer of meaningless evangelical claptrap, Mr. Kinney has a certain gift.

In another article of Kinney's cited by praxeus, Kinney mounts a desperate and imbecilic defense of 2 Kings 8:26 vis-a-vis 2 Chronicles 22:2, where there is a clear instance of scribal error. Mr. Kinney had to invent a ludicrous new definition of "age" in order to persist in his fantasy that the text is somehow perfect. It's quite a read.

Apparently Mr. Kinney can't bear to refer to Ehrman as "Professor Ehrman" or "Dr. Ehrman" and instead calls him "Mr. Ehrman". Or is Kinney dishonestly trying to imply something?

Looks like pure bibliolatry to me.

The KJV-only folks aren't worshiping any god. They're worshiping a book.
