Adam's Navel
I don't understand something...why does it matter whether Adam had a navel or not?

If he was not born of anything human, but was instead produced from the dirt via what I like to call "9th level cleric spells and the granted power of the Craft Domain" (props to whomever gets the joke), then he would not have a navel.

Ok, I've read those two threads and I still don't understand. Why does it matter if Adam and Eve had a navel? I don't see why it's such an important question.

The theory is that if Adam didn't have a navel, then Adam was not born the conventional way. If Adam had a navel, then Adam was probably born the conventional way.
I'm not sure I find the second part of that convincing, but it's possible anyway. |

How can Adam have a navel if he has no body? Adam was created in Gen.3 by the conscious mind only (there called Tree of Knowledge) as our second identity whereupon we built our self worth as human beings. This second identity is banned from Eden from where it can have an influence upon the Tree of Life that remains in charge of our body as man in the image of God.

If you are sure that God made Adam out of dust and could have made a funtionless navel if he wanted, you don't have a problem. If you are reasonably sure that mankind evolved from lower primates, there was no Adam, and no problem. But if you are uncertain about any of this, or if you think that God could not have made Adam with a functionless navel (while he gave Adam nipples and also incorporated all sorts of other design defects and odd features), then this question might seem important to you.
