Question The Acts of Mark (English translation)

Does anyone know of an online English translation for this text?

It is mentioned in stephan's blog:

Quote:
Pearson then emphasizes once again that the Acts of Mark identifies the martyrium of St. Mark as the Church in the Boucolia. Then he moves on to the Passio Petri Sancti and concludes:

The topographical references in this account matches those of the Acts of Mark with additional amplifications.
I dont seem to be able to locate the text for the Acts of Mark - can anyone point at it anywhere, or is it at the moment only available in printed translation, like for example, "The Acts of Titus"?

Thanks,

Pete

My friend Tjitze Baarda has a monograph coming out on this text, usually called the 'Martyrium Marci' (I didn't use the term owing to the confusion with the building of the same name. There is an Arabic version in Severus of Al'Ashmunein available at Roger's site. There is a fragmentary Coptic version in this book I saw at the library 'Coptic Manuscripts from St. Petersburg' or something like that. I would contact Baarda or look up his monograph. He has assembled all the manuscripts and attempted a critical edition.

Schneemelcher's summary is always a good place to start when trying to track down old manuscripts and traditions:

Thanks stephan. As you can appreciate it would be cool to actually read through an English translation of this text. To date I have never seen one. Other texts in this category include:

* The Acts of Mark (this thread)
* The Gospel of Gamaliel (Coptic?)
* The Acts of Andrew and John
* The Acts of Polyeuctes (mid 4th century?)
* The Acts of Timothy (late)
* The Acts of Titus (recent translation by Richard Pervo)

Of these I have managed to locate the translation made by Richard Pervo in a journal, but none of the others. If anyone knows the location of any English translations for any of the above available online, please post a reference.

Also, would it be considered in breach of Richard Pervo's copyright to place a copy of his translation online?

Thanks,

Pete
