Default What is contemporary secular respectable scholarship on Akenaten-Moses connection?

in light of new discovery here

Archaeologists find Akhenaten-era tomb
CAIRO (Reuters) - Dutch archaeologists have discovered the tomb of the Pharaoh Akhenaten's seal bearer, decorated with paintings including scenes of monkeys picking and eating fruit, Egyptian antiquities officials said on Wednesday.

Joseph Campbell and Sigmund Freud have suggested that Moses was a believer of Aktenaten and left Egypt during the reversal of his reforms.

That Judaism' monotheism is in some way connected or derivative of Akenaten?

No connection.

1. No evidence that Moses/Israel was in Egypt in Akenaten's time.

2. No evidence that Jewish monotheism is in any way derived from Egyptian religion.

That would be David Rohl's arena. Search this forum for the name. You probably won't get a lot of positive feedback, but it isn't exactly knee-jerk criticism.

When I originally read about Akhenaten there seemed like some kind of an obvious connection, considering I was still a Historical Moses advocate. But as I got older and wiser I had to step back and attribute most to coincidence of myth.

Clearly Atenism has influenced the Hebrew Bible. It has long been recognized that Psalm 104 is based at least in part on the Hymn to the Aten. In an appendix to his recently released second volume on Exodus (Anchor Bible series), W. H. C. Propp reprints his article from Propp, Ugaritische Forschung 3, 537–575 (1999) in which he discusses the possible connections in some detail. It is largely hypothetical, as Propp readily admits, but it is hardly outlandish to posit a firmer connection between Atenism and the Hebrew Bible.

(addressed to Apikoros)

Really?

I thought there was very little (meaning almost nil) cross-cultural contamination between the two? In fact I thought that Akhenaten's time period coincided more with the pre-hebrew cultures who were just starting to differentiate themselves by assuming certain cultural customs (dietary prohibitions for instance). What are some of the more popular datings of this psalm? Is that a dumb question?
