Peter Kirby

This is a collection of translations into English of the primary sources concerning the Bible and its background. All efforts have been made to include as many types of sources as possible, while keeping the price of each volume selected no more than twenty dollars. Despite that effort, in some cases the cheapest edition of the works will simply cost more than twenty bucks.

The purpose of posting this message is to get feedback on the idea, suggestions for additions (or removals), comments on the structure, and any other replies, before I format it all nice for the web.

The longstanding, and now public domain, collection of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha by R. H. Charles can be obtained in a few ways. The most expensive is to find it from a used books dealer. I did this a while back, but it looks as if the price is going up. The cheapest way to get it would be to wait for the CCEL to complete it (see http://www.ccel.org/c/charles/otpseudepig/home.html for that). This may take a while, since it has been dead in the water for a few years. The very inexpensive way would be to wait for me to complete it for bundling with the "Early Jewish Writings CD." Peter, do any of these volumes include complete translations of either (or perhaps of both) the Didascalia Apostolorum and the Ethiopic Didascalia? (Maybe Ehrman's After the New Testament?) If not, maybe you could recommend some that do? Also, I'm looking for an English translation of the Life of Schnudi--maybe you know of one? Thanks.
