I thought I saw Jerome's Commentary on Isaiah somewhere, but I don't remember now. I know I had to translate a portion of it because I didn't have access, but I am not seeing it now.

Eusebius's Commentary on Isaiah is available in English, however. You can see it in Googlebooks here.

No, this is just a book *about* the commentary. I did write to Hollerich and ask him if he had made a translation, but he said not; he'd just made 400 pages of notes, and wrote his book from that. I could cheerfully have throttled him. We don't need his book; we do need a translation -- there isn't one of any kind in any language.

Well then, we can either do the Commentary after we finish the Chronicon or we can do something else, like Jerome's commentary. Or you all could just learn to read Latin (I know you do, Roger) and be done with it. :Cheeky:

Oh, oh, of course it is, of course it is. Late night bubbly and all that. I was still thinking of Jerome's Commentary on Isaiah, which is in Latin.

But Greek ain't so bad, Roger. Finish up with Syriac and move on to Greek.

Having dangled some money over the LT-ANTIQ list, I've had an email from a post-doc who is making a translation of Eusebius on Isaiah (not to be available for a couple of years, tho). I've offered him some money (not a huge amount) if he can find a way to make a public domain version available online as well.
