I presume that Moore means that the fact that these texts were regarded as holy scripture by people 2,000 years ago and are still widely so regarded today, is a testimony to their perennial relevance and authority.

(The argument only works if one is prepared to take seriously the idea that these texts might be a witness to God's truth, otherwise the facts Moore is referring to become a testimony to the continuing influence of superstition or something like that.)
