I predict this will not be the last word. I can remember when the shroudies were begging for carbon dating. They finally got their wish but unfortunately carbon dating failed the Shroud Of Turin test.

If they are still having a go at it after it's been proven it's from Medeival times, these people are hopeless.

It's interesting that the pope mentioned (doesn't say which) calls it a representation, and the medieval bishop's account is clear, objective and follows the evidence.

What exactly does the Shroud of Turin prove? That Jesus was NAKED after he was RAISED from the dead?

Indeed.
Beliefs in which reason, logic and evidence have had no part informing are rarely demolished using those tools. This mindset is common in young earth creationists,9/11 conspiracy nuts,"God was an alien' fruit loops and other members the crackpot fringe. (of course Catholics are not on the fringe, they're mainstream) Psychologists call it 'cognitive dissonance'. George Orwell coined the pithier term 'doublethink'. |
