You know, Chili - you've got BY FAR the strangest and most surreal interpretation of the bible I have ever run across. If I had to be stuck with the christian god as the only god... I might convert to your way of thinking. If nothing else, the stream-of-consciousness bible you have would be a pretty interesting read.

It's kind of like what might be the result if Freud decided to psychoanalyze Bulfinch's Mythology :rolling:

Good idea but don't forget that mythologies are real except in your Disneyfied version of it.

Yes, but I like my theory better. At least I can drop the prefix and get back into Eden again.

Right, and Magdalene (she's the serpent Eve) is still adding piss and vinegar to the conversation and it is out of the putrid stench of these concoctions that the woman is able to condense some water and tie it into the celestial sea (which is the TOK), where it will be converted into wine later by the connoisseur of Life.

I guess, if you want to write letters in the sand it is much better to have mud 'in your eye' than dust because dust is just some more dust on dust (take heed all you critics).

If you would look up that scripture where Jesus wrote letters in the sand you may have noticed that he spit on it first. The message here is not "what" he wrote, but "that" he wrote. This same answer applies to the enigmatic "timely uttering" in "Intimations of Immortality." It is not "what" the protagonist said but "that" he said at the right moment in time.

Myth is real. For us to realize this we must first acknowledge that we, in our temporal mode of existence, are the illusion and that sometimes is not easy.

I'll explain this line out of respect for critics. "Mud in your eye" means confusion (I'll drink to that), to say that wisdom is born out of perplexity that emerges in the confrontation (the "stand and rout"). To "write in dust" is equal to adding some yeast to the bread of life and that just rises the ego some more = vainglory.

Well, feel free to live your life that way, but I, for one, will try to avoid stepping in front of any oncoming illusionary buses.

I believe that reality exists, and it's rather indifferent to my existence, so I pay it an awful lot of respect. But to each their own

We are talking about the fig of knowledge here, people. Just how seriously do you want to take all this?
Yeah, i'm aware of this, it's just that popular American culture tends to portray the tree of knowledge as being an apple tree for some inscrutable reason, so for most people I speak with the reference has immediate mental recognition, which keeps me using it.

I never said that buses are not real! It would be nice, though, if the Quantum Mechanics train would run you over.

Default Correction

While pondering my thoughts I just realized that earlier I called the celestial sea the Tree of Knowledge instead of the Tree of Life (TOK instead of TOL).

It may not have been noticed but it should be corrected. The relevant post is cited below.
