The 'busload of kids crashes and only one lives through it' scenario is a bit flawed.

A. IF Christianity is true, then those other kids would be in glory, having a great time- yet the scenario implies that the survior is the 'blessed' one.

B.) The scenario is time-limited. It is only looking at a relatively small slice of time/space, not the 'big picture'. We have no idea, with our limited ability to see the big picture, exactly WHO was hurt and blessed, why, how, and to what degree in this. Taking just one step away from this tragedy, what are the effects on the school or community? When things like this have happened in real life (generally, a bad/sad thing), the community grieves, and grows closer (generally a good thing), and so forth.

There is a ripple effect, and I don't think you can judge the situation without looking at all fo the ripple effects- which will continue for many years to come.

When i was writign that last part, I had a C and a D... but I can't think of them. My poor brain, dying so young!

There is no inside or outside of GOD, imo. For me, He/She/It is everything.

"Bill Gates has only been rich for a very short period of time."
Basically his whole adult life and he was born to well to do parents.

Things have come easy to me my whole life, I've got an incredible wife, a great job and financial and personal hapiness. Why am I getting it so easy when I regularly mock "god". Guess in the next world I will be tormented for not believing in him.

In my aspired reality, God sends nothing else but blessings. It should really boil down to how one 'look' at things.

Unknown purpose, I guess. God works in mysterious ways. It seems to me that claiming God may cause things like bus crashes for our own good is ultimately nonsensical: surely a benevolent all-powerful creator god could achieve his aims in a more humane fashion. And if the mysterious "good" that god aims at is not humane, I reject it. The meaning of the word "good" would be changed beyond recognition.

Iow, i don't think it's reasonable to claim that the mangled bodies of children are anything other than a misfortune. That good may come of it is beside the point.

Despite my objection above, your a & b looks like a trump card to me, but I haven't explored the unknown purpose issue very much.
