Yeah, I can't stand all these commie pinko fags up here. It's unconscionable :rolling:

I briefly got into southern Maine back in the year 2000. Other than the commie stench, it seemed rather laid back. I was also amused by McDonald's having the McLobster meal. It might be state law that every eating place have lobster on the menu.

I was actually thinking of responding to doom's semi-joking post with something about the tyranny of the majority and all that, but I don't actually want to get banned. I'm really trying to be civil there.

But yeah, the Hanson thing keeps throwing me off. Actually, she's relatively pleasant, so far.

You're probably right...i'm having a hard time telling when he's kidding or not :banghead:

Maybe it's just me, but I get a sense that deep down he means it, even if it is a presented as a joke.

Of course, many people adopt different a persona when online as opposed to real life. I'm no exception

No, I think he's serious. If it is a joke, then he's beaten it into the ground seven times over... but I've seen a similar attitude out of him towards any liberal that comes in there. Him, Warlady, Tacitus, and DesertFox seem to be the four flamers in there. Say anything that isn't deep right-wing, and you get flamed as a stupid liberal.

Yeah, unfortunately it does seem that way.

I've painted a big-ass target on my back, although that's not my goal at all. I see a lot of misinformation there, and I have to admit, that gets under my skin.

The thing that makes me kinda sad is I don't think some of them know any better. It seems like they have the opinions they do by 'default', you know? And people keep telling them that opposing views are evil or wrong or whatever. They won't even take a look at differing opinions, it seems.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's almost as if they've taken on a sort of "My team vs your team" mentality, in which all rational thought goes out the window and a "They're on the other team, therefore they're bad" mindset takes over.
