Default help on history paper

If anyone knows of any historians of the middle ages who did a commentary on Christian history, I'd appreciate it.

Last year i took a class on christanity in medieval europe and the one book i have left from it (be warned its rather dull, but its useful) was The Western Church in the Middle Ages by John A. F. Thompson. The book is mostly explanation of different aspects of the formation of the church, ideological problems and varrious other conflicts within the church. Its pretty good overview.

-Hope this helps

Just_an_Atheist,

So you are looking for a historian who lived in the Middle Ages and want to know their take on early Christianity? Well, the fact is that they tended to get their information from the Bible so you won't find too much else except lots of legends about saints. The Golden Legend might help you with all the extra canonical accretions. A Christian philosophy of History is found in Augustine's City of God which explains how Rome was allowed to grow into a mighty empire so Christianity could spread and other aspects of provedential history. This too is on line but probably too longand difficult for your purposes.

Is this what you are after?

Yours

Bede

Thanks, that was what I suspected, but it was rather difficult to prove, and I don't want to get points taken away because of lack of research.

P.S. That source is perfect, appreciate it.
