Propaganda - Islam and Xianity
Both these religions have huge "just so" stories claiming that their versions are how it is.
But the xian one has huge mythological elements, and the islamic one is dependent on an angel revealing everything to a blessed prophet. People will critique the haddith and later church tradition, but why are the cores given the benefit of the doubt? Is it very successful propaganda that stops the child whispering the emperor has no clothes being heard? Bible unearthed has noted it ain't neccessarily so about Abraham Exodus etc, why is it thought to be so about Jesus and mo? Was there really a revolution in critical thinking between Cyrus and Mo? (If mo existed!) |

The integrated approach ....
"At the top of the mountain you find it very cool. There will be none of the dissimilarity that you can see at the bottom of the path. The fundamental principles of all religions are one." -- Yogaswami, Sri Lanka (1872-1964) http://www.mountainman.com.au/yswami_0.html A Note on Propaganda ... Bring a few more religions into the arena for comparison (eg: Buddhism, etc, etc, and even the followers of people like Yogaswami) and consideration of general trends becomes easier. Certain phases and evolution of beliefs are noticeable: 1. For the period that the "sage" is living. 2. In the generations that follow. The "propaganda element" is often attributed to the second period with respect to the first. In some cases, when the religions get big enough, self-perpetuation and propaganda become focal issues which overshadow the essential teachings by which the religion has been "delivered" during the earlier phase.
