New Orleans was a cesspool of evil and filth. Gang wars, rapes, murders, drug dealers on every street corner, not to mention mardi gras celebrations that usually are involved with girls showing nudity and sheer ignorance to the laws of YHWH. Reread the Torah - the Commandments were for YHWH's Chosen People, not other nations. And, that is not what they were killed for - the Plagues came (in the myth) because YHWH wanted to show his power off, by deliberately hardening Pharoah's heart so that he would not let the Israelites go until there was blood shed. I guess you've missed the fact that the ancient Canaanites/Israelites probably practiced child sacrifice. The myth of Abraham and Isaac was used as a reason why the practice was no longer done, but IIRC there are remnants hidden within the other stories. Besides, such tales are often told about ones enemies as a way of making them less human, and therefore fit only for slaughter. Early Christians ate human flesh and had sex with their relatives, according to early "eyewitnesses," so maybe they all need to be taken with a grain of salt.
